before和in front of
典型错误:I think I`ll put the desk before the windows.
在现代英语中,我们一般不用before这个介词来表示地点,要用in front of.
I think I`ll put thd desk in front of the windows.

在几种情况下,before也可以用来指地点:
1,谈到次序的排列(如名单等)
Your name comes before mine.你的名字在我的前头.
2.表示"在(某重要人物)前面"
I came up before the magistrates for dangerous driving last week.
上星期我因开车冒险而被法院传讯.
3.用于right before my eyes,before my very eyes(在我面前公开地)等词组.
