有时候语法书上说，each other是指两个人或两件东西，而one another则指两个以上的人或物。这条“规则”并不反映实际的用法：这两个词组意思上并没有多少区别或根本没有什么区别。如果说有什么区别的话，那似乎是，当我们非常笼统的谈，而不特指什么人时，我们喜欢用one another（象one一样）。试比较：
They sat for two hours without talking to each other/one nother.他们坐了两个钟头，谁根谁都没说一句话。
The translation of 'se parler'is 'to talk to one another'.把法语‘se parler’译成英语就是‘to talk to one another'.（不能说：“...to talk to each other".)
