People 的单复数
首先让我们来看一个翻译题。
中国人民勤劳勇敢。
误：the Chinese people is hardworking and brave.
正：the Chinese people are hardworking and brave.
泛指“人民”、“人们”时，是单数形式，复数概念；作主语时，与复数动词连用：
Were there many people at the meeting/
指“民族”、“（一个国家的）人民”时，可以有单数和复数两种形式：
the Chinese people is a hardworking and brave one.
中国人民是一个勤劳勇敢的民族。
The peoples of Africa are awakening.
非洲各国人民在觉醒。
