这里的单词不是所谓的“生词”“僻词”也不是专门的术语，而是一些大家都知道也都会用那么一点点的words。这类单词虽然经常用到，但是它们还有很多的用法却都是不大了解的。不信的话，就拿“take”举个例子吧！顺便问一句，你能想到什么用法呢？"Take a rest"?"Take a seat"?

另外还有一些词呢，比如说“steal”，你能想到什么？就“偷”吗?请看下面的句子：
At ￥50 this bicycle was a steal.
谁能给我翻译一下？（不要告诉我这辆车是偷的啊）其实就从表面来翻译，这句话应该是“以50元的价格，这辆车就象偷来的一样”，意思很明显：这车非常便宜。美国人常常用steal来表达something for sale very cheaply（以极其低的价格买到的东西），也就是bargain——便宜的意思。
“词组”就不用说了，相信大家都熟悉，也是些比较有趣的东西，比如说“fat chance”（不是机会很多的意思）——机会很小；“have a bun in the oven”（不能就字面理解啊）——怀孕了；等等诸如此类。
