A
Last year I had an interesting story. After I had left a small village in the south of France, I drove on to the next town. On the way, a young man waved(挥手) to me. I stopped and let him get into the car. I said good morning to him in French and he answered me in the same language(语言). I don’t know French except for(除……之外) a few words. Neither(两者都不) of us spoke on the way. I had nearly reached the town, when the young man said, very slowly, “Do you speak English?” At that time I learned he was English himself!
